New or Returning to Counseling?

  • What does the first session look like?

Your first session is a chance for you and your therapist to connect in a comfortable, natural way. It typically lasts 60 minutes and includes an introduction to the therapy process, an exploration of your history and current concerns, and an understanding of your story across mind, body, spirit, and environment. Together, you’ll begin shaping a collaborative, individualized treatment plan that honors your goals. By the end of the session, the hope is that you both feel a sense of clarity, hope, and alignment—often scheduling follow up session(s).

  • What comes next?

Following the intake, sessions will center on co-creating goals with your therapist, deepening your understanding of what’s showing up in your life, and learning supportive techniques to help you navigate challenges. You’ll schedule ongoing appointments, and your therapist may provide resources or mind–body practices to integrate between sessions.

  • What to expect emotionally?

You might notice a range of emotions, from relief and clarity to fatigue or heaviness. This is a natural part of doing meaningful inner work. Therapy isn’t an instant fix—it's a journey, and feeling better unfolds over time.

  • Where would we meet?

Sessions are offered in-person at our office in Stow or virtually through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.
